about our blog

marginalia -n.pl. marginal notes. [medieval Latin, neuter pl. of marginalis]

We read a lot. We get together and talk about what we’ve read. A lot of what we read is science fiction, fantasy and other sorts of speculative fiction. We also read graphic novels (by which we mean comic books for grown-ups). And sometimes other related sorts of books that are historical, scientific, cultural and so on.

This blog is where we will share some of our thoughts on what we’ve read. We aren’t attempting to write comprehensive book reviews here. These are more along the lines of marginalia – the notes and thoughts we have while we are reading and discussing what we’ve read. We also try very hard to avoid spoilers, so if posts seem short on details about the story-lines, that’s why.
